Brittany Spaniels
Brittany Spaniels are an athletic dog pat of the Hunting Dog Breeds. Brittanys are one of the most popular dog breeds because of their nice personality, good looks, and relative ease of training.
They are now known as Brittany’s as the spaniel name has been dropped by the American Kennel Club because they act more like a pointer than a spaniel when hunting. But many still call them Spaniels.
Who Should Adopt a Pet Brittany?
Brittanies are great family pets because they are kind natured and intelligent. They are also great sporting dogs as they were bred as a poaching dog. They are easily trained but do require a lot of exercise. With daily physical and mental stimulation they will be great pets. If you and your family are too busy to play with, socialize and train a pet on a daily basis then a Brittany is not the right dog breed for you.
The Brittany Dog Breed is very popular with bird hunters due to their love of water, ease of training and great stamina. Appearance and Size
An orange and white coat is the most common colouring in the American Brittany (There are American and French Brittany’s). Others have a liver and white colouring. Their tails are short (sometimes docked, sometimes naturally)
They stand at a height of 17 - 21 inches and weigh between 36 - 43lbs (16 - 19 kg). So they are a medium size dog.
