Spay and Neuter

Why Spay and Neuter?

Getting your pet spayed or neutered is a big part of helping to control the animal population. I used to think that this was cruel and that it was a great idea to breed your pets. Over the years I have realized that millions of excess or unwanted animals end up in shelters each year. So that means that if I breed my pets the odds of the puppies or kittens finding a good home are actually low. And what do I know about breeding? I encourage you to Spay and Nueter your pets as well. This is one way to help control the pet overpopulation that causes overflowing animal shelters.

Other Reasons for Spaying and Neutering

Positive Change in Personality - altered animals are more affectionate and a bit calmer as well. Male cats will usually stop spraying. And the good elements of personality will remain. For instance, a dog will still protect the home.

Altered males will be less aggressive and less likely to roam.

Health Benefits - spaying a female reduces the risk of cancer and there are no infections of the uterus and ovaries. Males will have reduced risk of prostate and testicular disease.
